Tie The Knot Wedding Show 2017

When you're planning a wedding it's easy to get overwhelmed with how many vendors are out there. How do you make a choice? How do you know which ones are good? How do you know if their product is like what you see on their website?

Sometimes you just want to check out vendors in action before you go ahead a drop your hard earned money on a service and the best way to do that is to check out local weddings shows.

Our favorite show to do in Ottawa is Tie The Knot - Urban Wedding Show. There are a few reason why we love this show for vendors and for brides and we wanted to outline a few for you:

The show coordinators, WellsGarbe Productions, take the time to make sure that the vendors that are accepted are quality vendors. You won't get bombarded by pushy corporate booths, direct sales consultants or time share sales people. They carefully select their vendors and also make sure that the floor isn't saturated with just one service so you get a great mix of wedding vendors. I have to also mention that all the vendors there really care about their booth and spent a lot of time designing and preparing for the show. If you were going for inspiration alone then this show is definitely one you don't want to miss. All the booths were elaborate but attainable in their design. This year had a great mix of planners, photographers, hair and make up vendors, cake and sweet vendors, venues, floral teams, transportation, dress shops, suit shops, DJ's, Caterers and of course photobooths! We were really impressed by everyone there.

For the past two years this wedding show has been held at the Ottawa Conference And Event Centre on Vanier Rd. This location is not only convenient to get to from any part of the city as it's right off the highway, they also offer FREE PARKING. The conference center is laid out very nicely and is very easy to navigate, it's wheel chair accessible, and their staff is so friendly and helpful! Did I mention free parking...

For the caliber of vendors that this show has the ticket prices are quite affordable at $25.00 per person with discounts given if you purchase in groups. Your ticket purchase not only get's you in but the first hundred people get a nice swag bag filled with useful stuff, not just business cards and promo material. Throughout the day the flow of people is consistent but never overwhelming or crowded. As a vendor there we were busy all day and even though the line was consistent it was never so big that people would get discouraged.

We were REALLY excited to be at this wedding show so we could show off our brand new white and gold mermaid sequin backdrop. In case you have no idea what we are talking about, we have included a little video of Toast Events playing with our colour changing sequin backdrop, how fun is this!

We have these backdrops joining our collection in April, in White + Gold, Navy + Silver and White + Silver. We are always looking for the best and prettiest backdrops to bring to you for your special day and these are the ultimate addition. Did we mention they are included in our standard collect? Well, they are so there is no extra charge to you :)

Our booth was busy! Whether it was people wanting to play with the backdrop, take a picture or chat about our services, we were constantly on the go. We loved hearing all the feedback from everyone about the booth, backdrop, and the props.

Oh, Speaking of props... Our prop master, Amber, suggested a last minute addition to the collection which turned out the be a BIG HIT at the show. How Bow Dah...

Wedding shows also mean special pricing and prizes and we had both this year! We threw in hundreds of free upgrades to our packages this year for any attendant that booked our booth at the show. We rarely have sales so wedding shows area a great way to get some freebies from us and make your booth even better.

Because we obviously LOVE pictures we thought that a giveaway from a Fuji Instax Mini 8 would be a great prize for attendees and it's looks like we were right. We had hundreds of submission for the giveaway and one lucky winner, Trinity went home with her mini polaroid camera. We hope you snap lots of great memories and post your pictures around your house.  It's so important to print memories!

Needless to say, we can't wait for Tie The Knot 2018 already and we hope to see you there too!

In the meantime, you should head on over to our Instagram and Facebook page to see what new and exciting stuff we have for you in between now and next year.
