Photo booths are everywhere now a days! We see them not only at parties but hotel lobbies, shopping malls and even subway stations. Most people would think that a photo booth only takes pictures to print them but we can do much more then just that and one of those options is GIF's.
There are over 18,000 potential impressions wait for you at your next event. Find out how adding an MDRN photobooth can help you get a bigger social media imprint.
Not all wedding shows are the same and we have nothing but good things to say about Tie The Knot - Urban Wedding Show in Ottawa. Read all about our review and our booth set up! Ottawa's best luxury photo booth rental.
Photos are gifts that keep on giving. Think about it: when you look at a photo, you’re transported - even just for a moment - back to the time when that photo was taken. Back to that event. Back to the fun.
Wait? There are options?
There are! Who knew...?
Christmas parties are a challenge to plan and while adding a photo booth rental is a great idea, there is more to our photo booth rentals then just taking pictures. Here are just a few ways you can spice up your Christmas party photo booth rental even more!
ANIMATED GIF BOOTH
Wether you pronounce it GIF or JIF, everyone loves these low res moving pictures. You might think that you have to chose between one or the other but I have good news, you don't! We can print out a picture template and make you an animated GIF at the same time! Let your imagination run wild! How about a neon Christmas with pink snow?
Giant Balloon Props
If you're not really into the regular photo booth props or just really enjoy balloons as much as we do then oversized balloons are a great choice for your photo booth! There is this childlike awesomeness to playing with giant balloons.
If you have kids attending your Christmas party then we would recommend bringing good old St. Nick along for the ride! Everyone will be super happy that they didn't have to drive to the mall, wait in line and pay for their santa photo and who doesn't love having their picture taken with Santa!
We want to make sure your event isn't stuck in a repetitive photo booth rut! Try out one of these different options for your next event and see how much fun your guests have. Don't forget we offer rentals in Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, PEI and surrounding areas.
MDRN Photobooth Co. is now offering photo booth rentals to Halifax and Eastern Canada!
We had the amazing opportunity to be a bronze sponsor for The Boobyball last month where over $70,000 was raised in support of Rethink Breast Cancer. The theme of the night was Paradise City and it was all-kinds-of-incredible.
For some, the word “photobooth” conjures images of metal boxes found in train stations and shopping malls, filled with pre-teens striking a pose (or four, to be exact). While many of us have fond memories behind the thick curtains of those booths, their design isn’t necessarily ideal for your wedding or event. If you’re looking to rent a photobooth, consider pulling back the curtain with an open air photobooth. Here are a few reasons we think open air is the way to go for your next photobooth rental:
With the lack of snow and unseasonably warm weather, it may seem difficult to wrap your head around the fact that Christmas is very nearly here. And along with all the other things—getting gifts, dealing with crowded malls, decorating your home—you’ve still got to sort out that corporate Christmas party. Whether it’s a small office affair or a massive company-wide event, there’s one easy thing you can do to bring the fun: rent a photo booth.
Halloween is right around the corner, and you couldn’t be more excited! This is the time of year for jack-o-lanterns, trick-or-treating, candy, Tim Burton movies, and most importantly, costumes! It’s time to be whoever—or whatever—you want to be. It’s also a great time to go to parties with friends, have a great time, and enjoy everyone else’s costumes, too. Then there’s the pictures! Whether you’re the one renting it, or you’re going to a party where there’s going to be one, party photo booth rentals are a great way to immortalize your spooky shenanigans. Here are a few great photo ideas to try while you’re there!
A photo can capture a moment in time and conjure emotions and memories in a way that is unrivaled by any other medium. That may be why photobooths have become adored by party hosts and attendees alike in recent years–well, that and the fact that they give us an excuse to dress up and unleash our inner paparazzi-ready divas. Lucky for us, a photobooth rental is appropriate for almost any occasion. If you’re looking for an excuse to rent a photobooth in Ottawa, the following events present great opportunities to book a booth and strike a pose:
In the age of wedding hashtags and bridal selfies, it’s no wonder wedding photo booths have become ubiquitous staples in recent years. Photo booths at weddings are appropriate for lavish, black tie affairs, and backyard nuptials alike; there’s just something magical that occurs when you let your guests express themselves, no matter the setting (and especially when there are fun props involved). If you’re still on the fence about whether a wedding photo booth is for you, here are 5 reasons that may sway your decision:
If you’re of the opinion that partying with your co-workers and clients is a groan-inducing affair, we’re here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way. That’s right, we’re saying that hanging out with your colleagues outside of the office can be fun. With the right refreshments, mindset, and atmosphere, there’s no reason you shouldn’t have a blast at your next corporate gathering.

We can't think of a better way to celebrate Valentines day than at a Parisian themed ball thrown to raise money for a great cause. When we were asked to be at The Snowflake Ball 2015 we got super excited and then we got the news that the theme was Parisian Love. YES PLEASE!! We went straight to the drawing board with the fabulous Amber Warren to dream up this amazing styled booth. Amber created these hand painted watercolor props along with these super adorable Parisian themed props. Add a Rose Gold Lux backdrop and gold mint Julep cups from Amy and Jen Rentals to hold the props and we have ourselves the prettiest photobooth for Valentines Day. It also doesn't hurt when your guests are this fancy and awesome.
Check out the custom made props for this event. Do you have a favorite?? We can't pick...
Seriously though. These guests were out of this world! The line up for the booth was constant all night and we couldn't get enough of all the fabulous people. I'm pretty sure this first couple might be Clark Kent (Superman) and Lois Lane.
OH! I almost forgot to mention the template! We wanted to keep the template in line with the event branding as well as make it fridge worthy. A simple pink background with the Snowflake ball logo made for the perfect take home for each guest.

Welcome to the team, Amber!
MDRN had the chance to set up our very first Christmas photobooth ever for a recent Ladies Who Lunch event. The event's aim is always to promote women in local business and to give them a chance to show off their products and services. Each event focuses on raising money for a charity in order to give back to the community.
For the most recent event, titled "The Gift," Ladies Who Lunch were raising money for a young boy named Jonathan who lives with a very rare disease. By the end, $2500 worth of donations had been raised. Oh, and Jonathan's dog walked away with a basket full of goodies from Global Pet Foods!
For this event, MDRN Photobooth Company designed custom images, for each guest's photos to be printed on, complete with snowflakes and a festive script that said "The Gift." It really made our Ottawa photobooth POP with excitement!
One of the funnest props that we had available was a giant heart, requested by Catherine Landry, of Call Betty, to show Jonathan how much everyone supports him.
MDRN Photobooth Company had such a fun time being part of such a special event!
MDRN Photobooth Company had the good fortune of being able to participate in the "Do the Blue" fundraiser! The event is held in conjunction with the Ottawa Hospital Foundation and is meant to raise awareness for women's health. Guests who attended the event proudly sported the colour blue on the clothes, their nails, their hair, and their faces. It was a sea of blue, all for a great cause! Everyone was asked to take a selfie and post it to Twitter and Facebook with #selfiecare to spread awareness for the cause. It was all about promoting proactive care for women who might not take the time they deserve to make sure their health is where it should be.
During our time at the event, MDRN put out a donation jar, asking anyone who wanted to take part in our wonderfully blue Ottawa photobooth, to please make a donation towards the event's goals. We raised $126!
Catherine Landry, of Call Betty, completely transformed the atrium at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Ward to host the event. What Catherine was able to do was beyond incredible and I'm almost certain that she has real-life magical powers.
The template that our Lead Stylist, Catalina Bloch, designed for this event is completely unique to anything we've done before. We made sure that there was plenty of room for the big, bold, blue words - "Do the Blue #Selfiecare" to go along with everyone's big, bold, blue enthusiasm! Catalina designed the photobooth template to look like a glamorous Vogue magazine cover!
Oh, and did we mention that MDRN was on TV? That's right! Our co-founders, Catalina and Darren, can be seen helping guests with their MDRN photobooth experience in this clip from CTV Ottawa!
